Our Lineage
Our lineage flows directly from the wisdom and compassion of our beloved teachers, Yangsi Rinpoche and Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche. Their guidance represents an unbroken stream of profound knowledge, transmitted with authenticity and care from teacher to student across generations. In honoring their lineages, we honor the deep roots of Tibetan Buddhism, particularly the rich traditions of the Kagyu Nyingma, and Geluk schools, where study, practice, and realization are woven seamlessly into daily life.
Yangsi Rinpoche is a renowned teacher trained in the Geluk tradition who carries the heart-essence of authentic Dharma study and practice, rooted in ethical living, analytical meditation, and profound compassion. His teachings are deeply grounded in classical Buddhist philosophy while offering accessible wisdom for modern practitioners. Through his example, we are reminded that continuity is not merely about preserving knowledge—it is about embodying it with sincerity, humility, and an open heart.
Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, a celebrated master of both the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions, inspires us through his fearless exploration of the mind’s nature and the innate wisdom each being possesses. His teachings on the nature of mind, freedom, and compassionate action encourage us to awaken to our own intrinsic potential. His lineage emphasizes the importance of personal experience and genuine realization over dogma, making the ancient teachings vibrantly alive and relevant today.
Through these two extraordinary teachers, we are blessed with lineages that are distinct yet harmoniously complementary—one emphasizing the clarity of study and the discipline of ethical conduct, the other illuminating the spontaneous brilliance of awakened mind. Continuity’s work is devoted to living, protecting, and sharing these precious transmissions so their wisdom may continue to flourish for the benefit of all beings.
“It is all up to us. We are the ones who have to keep looking at our thoughts, looking for the nature of our mind. There is nobody else in control of our lives, our experiences, our freedom or our bondage.”
— Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche
